Berlin is the capital city of Germany and offers many different things for both tourists and locals alike. Once split down the middle into east and west Berlin by the Berlin Wall after World War II, the city has been reunited since the 1990's.
Ask a local what they love about Berlin and chances are they will go on for several minutes if not longer when describing their favorite places. They'll share the joys of the freedom afforded after the tumbling of the Berlin Wall, the nightlife that permeates the landscape and even chat about some of the amazing young designers in the area.
Take a moment to view the Berlin Travel Video above and see just some of things to experience in this sprawling metropolis. Berlin is huge and comes in at nearly eight times the size of Paris so plan wisely when visiting and map out the areas you wish to visit ahead of time.
If you need cash while in the city you'll find that most banks are open Monday through Friday from about 9am to either 1pm or 3pm depending on the branch.
If you experience an emergency while in the city you can reach the police by dialing 110. If you need to report a fire or call for an ambulance you can dial 112.
