Geneva is a popular city located in Switzerland and many tourists here with little time to spend in the country often find themselves choosing between this city and its neighbor Zurich. Of course we recommend making time to visit both if possible, but if you absolutely must choose one, we would say go with Geneva.
If you've ever visited this city or done research on its long and stories history then you have no doubt run across a collection of people who will tell you that this French-speaking city should instead be a part of France. While one can see both sides of such an argument, Geneva is indeed an international city with more than 250 international organizations within the city limits and the most important arguably being the European headquarters for the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the International Red Cross among others.
Take a moment to watch the Geneva Travel Video above and see just some of the interesting things to experience here.
Switzerland's second largest city has a unique charm about it and feels almost uncharacteristic of Europe these days. It's by no means a center for nightlife and its scenery includes a gorgeous lake and views of the pinnacle of Mont Blanc.
If you have an emergency while traveling here you can dial 117 for police assistance, 144 to call an ambulance or 118 to report a fire.
