Hong Kong is Asia's answer to New York City. It is the city that never sleeps and a city that offers plenty of variety for both its residents and tourists alike from neon-lit skyscrapers and mirrored towers to the ability to relax and have an afternoon tea at one of the many area cafes.
You'll quickly realize that unlike many cities around the world there is no set pace here. Hong Kong is what some would call a speedy city, but there is such a variety of people here that you can easily set your own speed and enjoy the sights and sounds at your own pace.
Take a moment to watch the Hong Kong Travel Video above and you'll see just a few of the different things to experience in this large and sprawling port city.
Shopping is one of the biggest attractions in the region and there are tour companies that actually offer complete tours based on this experience alone. A word of caution is warranted though in that some of these companies take kickbacks from the stores they bring you too so be wise with your purchases.
Banking hours in the city can vary widely if you find yourself in need of some quick cash but for the most part you'll find many branches open during the traditional business hours during the week.
If you have an emergency while in the city just dial 999 for the police, to call for an ambulance or to report a fire.
