The mission of Insider Perks is to provide travelers with a variety of information through the use of video, audio, pictures, text and other means in order to help facilitate their decision making in regards to travel planning. While our company remains a newer presence within the travel industry as a whole, our expert staff has the knowledge and skills to provide the best possible information at all times.


There are several different ways that you can tailor your message to our audience and create customized solutions including banner ads, blog posts, sponsored videos, sponsored hotel deals, branding city pages, branding category pages, targeting individual places (museums, hotels etc), sponsored descriptions, product placements, social media marketing and customized solutions including pre-roll advertising (coming in 2012).


Travel Video Statistics


In 2010, comScore reported that more than 179 million Americans watched online video each month and in December more than 88.6 million people watched online video every day. In the United States alone, the online video audience is expected to grow to more than 190 million people by 2012. That's 88% of the entire online audience.


Google reports in its 5 stages of travel that 68% of business travelers watch travel-related online videos. Among them, 68% are thinking about booking a trip. Among leisure travelers, 46% are watching travel-related videos versus 36% only two years ago which shows a huge shift in where they are getting information.


In the same report Google outlines that 51% of business travelers use mobile devices to get travel information making it essential that Insider Perks uses HTML5 to deliver all of its videos ensuring compatibility with nearly all modern smartphone devices including Apple iOS and Android.


Google also states that the average traveler visits an average of 22 travel related sites during 9.5 research sessions prior to booking and 85% of leisure travelers consider the internet to be their main source of travel planning.


In Europe, New Media Trend Watch reports that when researching a trip, 63% watch videos for leisure travel and 66% for business travel.


In addition, a full 25% of people expect to see videos when researching a destination according to Econsultancy.


Insider Perks Audience


As of December 2011, Insider Perks serves more than 35,000 monthly page impressions to over 20,000 monthly visitors. On average, our visitors remain on our site for 1 minute 13 seconds and we have a bounce rate (according to Google Analytics) of approximately 58%.


According to our research, visitors to Insider Perks fall into two different primary age ranges which include 25-34 year olds and 45-54 year olds. Among those visitors, we have a significantly higher reach with females and although the two categories are nearly identical, we reach slightly more people who do not have children in their households. Many of our visitors have also attended Graduate School.


More than 50% of our visitors are from the United States with 10% coming from Canada and 8.5% of visitors located in the United Kingdom as of December 2011. Also represented are visitors from Germany, Netherlands, France, Australia, India, Portugal and Italy with the remaining traffic coming from a wide variety of other countries.
