Once upon a time you could find a factory around almost every corner in the United States. They made pots, steel, glass, weapons and even cars. As the years have passed the need for so many workers has dropped as machines have taken over much of the process. It is still fascinating to tour these places though.
Not all factories are home to the type of blue collar workers you would imagine. In fact, there are quite a few places that make elegant carved glass and even candy for that matter.
